Grading Kicked Off

Grading kicked off unknowingly on Saturday 29th Nov 08 at the seminar,

Brown belt (2nd kyu) Phil was put through his paces by Sensei Brian, he had ippon kumittee to show followed by

Knife defences (semi sharp blade) PLUS defend himself against the Bokken (wooden sword)

He did 2 and half hours of these and was Knackered at the end of it.

On Monday night @ the Goole Dojo Sempi Phil turned up to complete his grading,

He had to do ALL the Kihon (basic's) he knew and name body parts & stances in Japanese

Also showing a full knowledge of bone dislocations, immobilisation holds

And tell and technique

After he had done all the Kihon he had to stand in Kibidachi (horse stance) for an hr holding a bucket

Of water with a brick in it at arm’s length for 10 mins then swapped the bucket for a fire extinguisher.

1hour later he did 20mins free fighting.

The hardest thing now he faces is the not knowing if passed or failed and is waiting for the

Result.
