To all students and friends see you all when i get back . October 25 BIG NEWSAs you are all aware as from 3rd November 2008
the Dojo will be closed as i have been intvited to the USA and to visit some Dojo's
Please could all students while i am away please keep up with doing there
basic's and Kata
You should anyway at least find 20mins at home to practice or more
but i do know that some times this is hard to do but i do need you to try keep up while i am away
as for when i come back on the first monday the dojo
is open you will be tested to be put forward
for your grading as we think gradings will start
in about four weeks time.

Sensei Darrel 3rd Dan October 23 A candleA candle can burn all day and all it does is blends in to the back ground,
A candle that burns at night shines bright , moves and shows the way,
this candle can make a difference,
the question is does the candle lead the way or does it show away?
Are we guided by its light or are we drawn by its beauty?
Which candle do you wish to be?
Are you guided and shown away or are you just lead by its beauty and drawn away?
But more to the point when lighting your candle "is it just a candle?"
These words can mean alot or even nothing at all, it's what you see and read and think and not for me to say.
Just a little something for people to read or ponder over
if you want to read and leave it then thats ok

Sensei Darrel 3rd Dan October 21 SWORD NIGHTLast Night 20th October 2008
Was a good night and big thank you goes out to Sensei Brian 5thDan
who came along to teach all the students the Sword, Sensei taught them Sword Kata's starting the
students of with Mai meaning forward
The students were shown 3 kata's of Sword to which some had never done Sword before
and i think managed very well, Sensei Brian showed them the Bunkai (explination) of the
Kata's as well as teaching the Kata.
He also taught and let them have a go at ippon Katana (one step with sword) which again
the students all tried there very best.
The students got a fun filled night as they were told alot of history about the sword and the history
of the Samurai which i hope they manage to hold some of this.
They all so got a look in to other weapons as well as Katana. other weapons looked at were
the Jo a 4ft staff
&
the Bo a 6ft staff
I hope students got something out of the night and it was a very indepth look in to another sided to
Martial arts.
I do hope students enjoyed it as much as i did and will see all students on Monday.

please bring them this coming monday 20th oct 2008
If you also have Bo please bring that with you also
Please bring them in a suitable carry case OR
In a wrap over which is tied
as it is an offence to carry a weapon which is easily accessible
